Swarnim students proved their mettle by qualifying for the National Level in the International Kenken Championship 2019, which is to be held on the 10th of November, 2019 in the Convocation Hall of the Mumbai University. 19 out of 23 participants from the school (Classes 3 to 6 )qualified for the National level. Kenken is a style of arithmetic and logic puzzle invented in 2004 by Japanese math teacher Tetsuya Miyamoto. The Kenken India Foundation presented each student with a medal and a certificate of merit. The students were applauded for their superb performance in the state level by their peers and the management. Wishing the participants that they come out with flying colours in the National level and bring more laurels to the school.

Academy for Musical Excellence AMEC is an organisation affiliated under Kodaly Society of India. AMEC has been organising the YUVA MUSIC FESTIVAL since 2014, to showcase the young talents from different schools in Kolkata.
The YUVA MUSIC FESTIVAL 2018 was graced by the Honourable Japan Consulate General, who awarded the students their certificates. We congratulate Aryan Banerjee of Class IV for standing second.

Our children received prizes from Anindya Chatterjee of Chandrabindu and Sidddhartha Ray of Cactus, both Bangla bands, for winning in an inter school essay competition organised by Antara - an NGO. The essay was on "healthy life " and our students exhibited literacy skill and exemplary thought to bag the prizes from amongst 21 schools ! Ananya Sen was awarded trophy for second over all and Piyush Sethy and N. Kavya received special mention.

12 students proudly received Yellow Belts for Taekwondo from the Traditional School of Martial Arts, India. They have been training with us for a year and had taken the exam in May. The certificates and the belts were given out by Mrs. Manju Pachisia, Chairperson, Women Corporate Director Committee from the FICCI Ladies Organization. Mrs. Pachisia addressed the students and urged them to bring out their best in their chosen fields through discipline and hard work.
Another proud moment was when our teacher was recognised as a "Thought Provoker", a competition organised by Open Door assessing the question making powers of a teacher - whether they teach a child to think. Ms Anindita Mazumdar is among the top 100 finalists from across India from 5000 teachers who participated.


In the entire championship, 3 year old Aishik Mondal was youngest to represent the country. He was awarded the International Championship Kumite -Gold & Kata- Silver Medals.
